The Psychology Department is a key part of the future kids cdc, focusing on understanding and supporting the mental, emotional and behavioural development of children. Our R.C.I licensed rehabilitation psychologists are expertise in diagnosing, handling, counselling, and providing support to children who are going through emotional, intra and inter personal and psychological struggles.

Our Psychology department provides the following services

Behavioral Therapy:

Behavioral therapy refers to a set of therapeutic interventions that aim to eliminate maladaptive, self-defeating behaviors and replace them with healthy, adaptive behaviors.

Behavior therapy teaches children and their families how to strengthen positive child behaviors and eliminate or reduce unwanted or problem behaviors. One type is parent training in behavior management. The therapist works with parents to learn or improve skills to manage their child’s behavior.

Behavior therapists provide mental health treatment and support, with an emphasis on identifying and changing learned behaviors that may be negatively impacting the client’s life. They treat people with a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, phobias, addictions, and panic disorders.

IQ test:

IQ tests begin to assess a person’s intelligence quotient by measuring their short-term and long-term memory. It also measures how well individuals can solve puzzles or recall information they have heard, as well as how quickly they can complete these activities.
An intelligence test can uncover valuable information about cognitive abilities that assist the therapist in helping the child develop his or her full potential.

Parental counseling:

Parenting counseling equips parents with strategies to support their child through these transitions, helping them adapt to changes and manage any associated stress or anxiety. Effective discipline involves setting clear boundaries while nurturing a child’s sense of self-worth.

Parental counseling is a type of service that aims to provide the necessary knowledge, tools, guidance, and most especially support to parents without bias or judgment. This way, they become more fully equipped to take care of their children.

Assessment and Diagnosis:

Our licensed psychologists support families by offering IQ assessments, learning disability assessments, cognitive and behavioural assessments, and personality assessments to create tailored intervention strategies based on specific concerns.

Therapeutic Intervention:

The department provides various therapies, such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and family therapy, to help children overcome potentially self-destructive or unhealthy behaviours and thrive in their environments.

Collaboration with Other Departments:

The Psychology Department works closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and special education teachers to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development. This multidisciplinary collaboration ensures that all aspects of a child’s development are addressed.

Parental Involvement and Support:

Psychologists at the center also offer guidance and support to parents. They provide the necessary knowledge, tools, and guidance, offering support without bias or judgment. This approach helps parents become better equipped to care for their children.
